Magic in the Air (and Everywhere) ✨

Greetings my BubbleNation Community

A Little Magic, A Lot of Wind, and Even More Joy

This past month, I found myself returning to Allaire State Park for their annual Easter celebration, a place that’s become woven with so many special memories over the years. Every year I return for Easter (and Halloween), and every year it feels a little bigger, a little brighter, and somehow even more magical.

River Barry, Historical reenactment or themed event with people in costumes and children in a park.

There’s something incredibly special about walking into a crowd and spotting familiar faces, families who saw me here over the past years, kids who have grown just a little taller, and those excited eyes that remember. And then, right alongside them, a whole wave of new faces stepping into my magic and the magic of allaire for the very first time.

The day itself? Wild, in the best way. The wind had plans of its own, sweeping through the park like an unseen performer. My bubbles didn’t just float… they flew. Everywhere. Suddenly, there was no “audience” and “stage” area, the entire crowd ended up in the splash zone. Kids ran laughing with Easter baskets in hand, chasing bubbles as they danced unpredictably through the air. Honestly, I couldn’t have choreographed it better myself.

Moments like that where everything becomes a little chaotic, a little unexpected, and completely joyful those are the moments that stay with me.

From Big Crowds to Backyard Magic

Since my last newsletter, I’ve also had the privilege of stepping into a different kind of magic, private birthday celebrations.

And wow… these families went all out.

One in particular transformed their entire home into a magical theater experience, complete with posters from my show. Walking into that space felt like stepping into a world they built just for the moment, just for their child. That level of love and intention, it stays with you.

At these parties, I brought out some of my classic routines along with a few brand new surprises. One favorite? My playful, kid-friendly twist on a “bullet catch”… except it’s a dime, and yes, I catch it in my mouth. The reaction was priceless.

But what really makes these moments at all these private parties unforgettable isn’t just the tricks, it’s the connection. Watching kids go from curiosity… to wonder… to full-on belly laughter. Seeing them completely mesmerized, then moments later running through their own backyard chasing bubbles like it’s the greatest adventure in the world.

Two Kinds of Magic, Two Kinds of Fulfillment

Performing for a large crowd like allaire and performing in an intimate home space are two completely different energies, and I’ve come to deeply love both for what they give.

When I’m surrounded by a sea of people, there’s this electric pulse. The laughter ripples outward. The “oohs” and “wows” build on each other. It’s high energy, uplifting, almost like riding a wave of collective joy. You feel like you’re part of something bigger than yourself like you’re helping create a shared moment that hundreds of people will carry with them.

But then there are the private events… and those hit the heart in a quieter, deeper way.

There’s eye contact. There’s conversation. There’s the ability to slow down and really be with people. You see the small reactions, the way a child’s face lights up, the way parents laugh just as hard as the kids, the way everyone no matter their age or background comes together over something as simple and beautiful as a bubble floating through the air.

It reminds me every time: magic isn’t just about the spectacle. It’s about connection.

And somehow, whether it’s a roaring crowd or a backyard full of laughter… bubbles always seem to bring us back to that same place, together.
