Inspiration Comes From Unexpected Places

Greetings my BubbleNation Community

Inspiration Comes From Unexpected Places

For me, performing has never just been about tricks, applause, or standing on a stage. It has always been about connection. The small moments that stay in your heart long after the music fades and the bubbles disappear into the air.

Every year at Bringing in the May, there was a little girl who would come to see me perform. She couldn’t have been more than 5 years old when it first started. Year after year, for five years, she would return with the same bright excitement and wonder in her eyes. But what touched me most was that each year, she would bring me something she had made herself, a small handmade gift, created with care and kindness.

Those gifts were never about how big or elaborate they were. They were reminders that what we do as performers matters more than we sometimes realize. To her, the magic wasn’t just bubbles floating through the air or impossible moments. It was a feeling. A memory. A tradition. And somehow, through all those years, I became part of her childhood story.

I still think about how beautiful that is. A child taking the time to create something with her own hands just to give back a little of the joy she felt. Moments like that remind me why I love performing so deeply. It’s about inspiring the next generation to keep their imagination alive, to stay creative, gentle, and full of wonder in a world that often asks people to grow up too fast.

Sometimes we never fully know the impact we have on young people. A performance or your presence may last an hour, but the feeling it creates can stay with someone for years. And every once in a while, a child reminds you that the real magic was never the tricks at all. It was making someone feel seen, inspired, and connected.

What’s Coming Next…

Over the next few months, Riverstone Entertainment will be bringing magic, laughter, bubbles, and wonder to libraries, festivals, schools, birthdays, camps, and community events all across the season. Every event becomes its own little world filled with connection, imagination, and unforgettable moments, and I cannot wait to share these experiences with so many amazing communities this year.

As the seasons slowly begin shifting later this year, I am already planning ahead for August, September, October, and November events. It is always exciting seeing what adventures appear on the calendar and wondering where the bubbles will float next.  I am booking fast so if you are looking to book me for the fall and winter fill out my booking form asap

This summer, I’ll be touring libraries across York and Cumberland County, and you can also find me at New York Faerie Festival.

More details are in the schedule graphics below. I'd love to see you there.

One of the things I love most about performing is inspiring the next generation.

If you have a young magician in your life who loves mystery, magic, and making people smile, be sure to check out River Barry's Easy Magic Kit. It's filled with beginner friendly magic designed to help children build confidence, learn new skills, and create a little magic of their own.

Who knows? The next great magician might be practicing their very first trick today.

It's funny how inspiration works. Sometimes it comes from years of experience. Sometimes it comes from fellow performers. And sometimes it comes from a child in the audience who sees things from an entirely different perspective.

When I think about both of these stories, I realize they share something important.

Children have an incredible way of inspiring us when we least expect it.

Sometimes we think we're the ones creating magic for children.

But every now and then, children create a little magic for us.

With Magic, Bubbles and Gratitude,
River Barry
